Del Norte County DHHS Behavioral Health Branch offers a variety of services on a sliding fee scale. Call 707-464-7224 or visit their webpage for more information.

Business Assistance

Del Norte County is collecting statements of economic injury from impacted businesses for the Small Business Administration (SBA) Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program. If your business had fire-related impacts, please complete this form (also available in Spanish and in Hmong)

and return it to delnorteoes@co.del-norte.ca.us or mail it to 981 H St. Suite 240, Crescent City, CA, 95531.

Insurance Matters

The CA Department of Insurance provides assistance on insurance issues such as claim handling delays, additional living expenses, and underinsurance disputes. Contact the Consumer Hotline at 1-800-927-4357 or visit the website

California Employment Development Department (EDD) disaster-related services for employees

The California Employment Development Department may have help available for people who lost employment or had their hours reduced due to a disaster. To learn more about EDD disaster-related services, visit the EDD website

California Employment Development Department disaster-related services for employers

Del Norte County employers directly affected by fires may request up to a two-month extension to file state payroll reports and/or deposit payroll taxes without penalty or interest.

Pacific Power Backup Electric  Rebate Program

Pacific Power has expanded its rebate program for household generators/backup power devices. The program is now available to all California customers, not only those living in high fire threat districts. More information is available on the Pacific Power Backup Generator Rebate page.

California Department of Tax and Fee Administration

Emergency relief may be available from the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) for taxpayers who have been directly affected by disasters declared as State of Emergencies. Available services may include the extension of tax return due dates, relief of penalty and interest, or replacement copies of records lost due to disasters.

Pacific Power Medical Baseline Program

Pacific Power offers a Medical Baseline Program for residential customers who may have additional energy needs related to qualifying medical conditions. Qualifying residential customers may receive an increase in the baseline allowance at the lower rate on their monthly energy bill. 

CalFresh Benefits

Cal Fresh has automatically added replacement benefits to accounts for people enrolled in Del Norte County zip codes 95531, 95543, 95548, and 95567 to compensate for food losses. Other Utility Assistance

If you are having trouble paying your electric bill, Pacific Power may be able to assist. Qualifying residential customers may be able to receive a 20% discount on their electric bills through the California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE) program.

Income-eligible households of all ages may also qualify for utility bill assistance through the Del Norte Senior Center.

Other Food Assistance

The Del Norte and Tribal Lands Community Food Council Mobile Pantry brings staples and fresh produce to Gasquet, Smith River, and Klamath monthly. Pacific Pantry also offers weekly food distribution events in Crescent City. Visit their website or call (707) 464-0955 for more information.
