DART strives to educate the public on how to best prepare for the evacuation, care, and sheltering of their animals when emergencies and disasters strike. The team offers monthly meetings, ongoing training, outreach materials, and consultations. DART has also been called to assist the local shelter when extra assistance is needed.

In addition, DART is a valuable member of the County response team. Members assist in providing shelter for pets, working with owners to find suitable boarding locations, and provides information on hotels which allow pets.
